Who We Are

A group. A community. A Family.

The Filipino McMaster Student Association (FMSA) is an organization established to promote the Filipino culture across McMaster University, and unite all those interested in sharing their appreciation for the Filipino culture. Our social, cultural and charitable events provide opportunities for students to make connections and make meaningful contributions to their community. We aspire to strengthen and empower one another through valuing mentorship and inclusivity, regardless of cultural background. We aim to create a sense of family that uplifts and unifies the general members, executive council, and the community.

Our Mission

To connect, educate and empower McMaster’s diverse community through mentorship, charity and sharing of Filipino culture, regardless of background or location. Come join our ‘pamilya’ (family)!

The Filipino McMaster Student Association (FMSA) strives to promote and share Filipino culture within the McMaster community.

FMSA values the idea of togetherness by creating a strong, family-like bond among its members. Similarly, FMSA believes in the empowerment of Filipinos by reclaiming our identity and advocating for diversity within the community. Through our inclusivity, FMSA has been able to thrive and work with other FSA's around Canada to further foster the community that we are proud to be a part of.

As we value and strive to be a community rooted in togetherness, we have chosen the International Work Group for Indigenous Affairs (IWGIA) as our charity of the year.
