We promote and share our heritage with other Filipinos and those in our community who want to learn more about us!
FMSA is a cultural club at McMaster University that hosts events such as Halo-Haloween, Rendezvous, and Amazing Race. We also share what our club does and take opportunities to learn from others by going to events such as Pinoys on Parliament in Ottawa, Super Skillz, etc.
Within the mentorship program, you are given 1-2 mentors who will guide you throughout the year. There are sometimes small challenges (such as: hangout with them and post it on insta, tagging FMSA), and events that are specifically for you and your mentors.
For more information, questions and/or concerns, please contact Kat Cornejo (VP Internal).
We have a lot of different types of events that anyone can go to! Other than our general meetings to introduce the club for the year, we have our Halo-Haloween event filled with fun games and a traditional Filipino desert, Halo-halo. We also have our Thanksgiving Budol Fight with tons of delicious traditional foods. There's our talent showcase, Rendezvous, where we support our fellow community and all the talent that we have!
There are so many other fun-filled events that we would love for you to be a part of. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to contact any of our executive team members
Some events do have an entrance fee due to the food, snacks, and props that the club has to buy. With the membership, students are able to get discounted prices on the events that give a membership price.
Also, some of the proceeds that we make from entrance fees will go to our charity of the year, the Indigenous Work Group for Indigenous Affairs (IWGIA).
